The 'Housing Complex' is being built by FISA using traditional techniques and materials. The project is designed to be environmentally friendly and use local labour as part of a training scheme to promote and revive traditional African architecture.

The Project and the Need
Frédéric Oumar Kanouté, the Mali and Sevilla FC footballer,
launched the appeal to establish the 'Mali Children’s Village' in 2006.
The Mali Children's Village will bring together various services in a project
to care for the needs of at least 100 orphaned and vulnerable children.
The core project will consist of a housing complex, an education and training centre, and a health clinic.

Housing Complex
Every child deserves to live as part of a family. In the children’s village, the children will be housed in family–style accommodation with foster parents, who will be their primary carers. The children’s village will cater for all the needs of the children, including facilities for sports and recreation.
Education & Training Centre
The school will provide the children’s basic primary and secondary education. It will also be open to children from neighbouring areas, to help integrate them into mainstream society. The training centre will provide vocational skills to equip the children for life after the children’s village.
Health Clinic
The clinic, although primarily for the Children's Village, will be open to the local community. *Funding Secured!*
